Rams defeat visiting Connellsville in OT, 3-2

Hunter Suarez scored the deciding goal 2:32 into overtime Tuesday night to lift Ringgold to a 3-2 victory over visiting Connellsville at the Rostraver Ice Garden in PIHL Class D2 action.

Zach Kalinowski assisted on the game-winning goal.

Connellsville now has three points with a 1-0-0-1 record. Ringgold improves to four points with a record of 2-0-0-0.

After a scoreless first period, Connellsville’s Michael McKitrick scored at 9:49 on an assist from Ryan Brown.

The Rams’ Ryan Marek tied the game nine seconds later on a power play goal. Lucas Long and Noah Schroeder assisted on the tying goal.

The Falcons regained the lead late in the second period when Ryan Brown beat Rams goalie Evan Cook for a power play goal with 32 seconds remaining in the period. Gregory Hensh and Steven Ross assisted on the goal.

Justin Day quickly tied the game when he scored 70 seconds into the third period.

The Falcons’ Sebastian Skarzenski had 34 saves. Cook made 18 saves to preserve the victory.
