Leopards win at West Mifflin, 28-12
Belle Vernon scored a touchdown in each quarter Friday night as the Leopards went on the road to defeat West Mifflin, 28-12, in Big Eight Conference play.
Jared Hartman spotted the Leopards (5-1, 6-1) the early lead on a 1-yard run in the first quarter.
Mason Pascoe scored the first of two rushing touchdowns on a 4-yard run in the second quarter, and then crossed into the end zone on a 6-yard carry in the third quarter. He gained 211 yards on the ground on 28 carries.
Larry Callaway capped the scoring on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter. Cam Guess hit all four extra-point attempts.
West Mifflin’s Bryant Johnson made the score 14-6 at halftime with his 16-yard touchdown reception from Matt Shuster. Shuster completed 7-of-15 passes for 168 yards and Johnson was his leading receiver with four receptions for 101 yards.
Parish Parker scored on a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Titans to make the score 21-12 at that point.
Belle Vernon’s Nolan Labuda had two interceptions.
