Ringgold boys, girls finish first in WCCA meet
The Ringgold boys and girls won the Class AA-A team titles Monday afternoon at the Washington County Coaches Association Cross Country Championships held at Mingo Creek Park.
The Rams won the small team title with 61 points, finishing third overall behind Canon-McMillan (41) and Peters Twp. (59).
The Lady Rams won the AA-A title with 126 points, also finishing fourth overall behind big school teams Peters Twp. (36), Canon-McMillan (36), and Trinity (97).
The California boys finished seventh overall and fourth in AA-A with 199 points, while the Lady Trojans were seventh overall and fourth in the small school standings with 155 points.
Ringgold’s Lucas Pajak was second overall with a time of 17:22. Ethan Gamble placed fourth in 17:31 and Eric Obringer finished sixth in 18:24 to join Pajak on the All-County team.
Peters Twp.’s Zachary Marmol was the county champion, crossing the finish line with a time of 16:57.
The Rams’ Lorenzo Zeni placed 24th with a time of 19:23.13, about seven seconds ahead of teammate Ben Daerr. Donovan Long (30, 19:43.13) and John Segebart (31, 19:51.14) also ran for Ringgold.
California’s Charles Roberts earned all-county honors after finishing fifth with a time of 17:53.59. Kolby Kent (41, 20:48.89), Mason Kent (44, 21:14.28), Josh Gwyn (52, 22:01.13), Matt Shimko (60, 23:40.99), and Jay Danko (62, 24:27.37) also ran for the Trojans.
The Lady Trojans’ Makayla Boda finished seventh with a time of 22:37.32 to earn a spot on the all-county team.
Ringgold’s Andrea Kassa placed eighth in 22:50.35 and Anjolina Hrycko finished 13th with a time of 23:08.57 to earn all-county honors.
Peters Twp.’s Jennifer Massucci finished first overall in a time of 20:54.82.
Morgan Richards (33, 26:04.55), Crystal Shuster (43, 27:04.81), Jenna Sargent (46, 28:25.58), Emily Rosenberg (48, 28:53.74), and Kylee Krivijanski (53, 30:33.34) also ran for the Lady Rams.
Bre Trusler (34, 26:08.21), Deja Walker (44, 27:35.98), Haylee Higinbotham (45, 27:41.58), Emma Sprowls (49, 29:30.84), and Dakota Filby (56, 33:45.84) rounded out the field for the Lady Trojans.
