Raitano scores ace
Ed Raitano, of Washington, scored a hole-in-one on Feb. 1 at Coral Ridge Country Club in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. The long-time member of Nemacolin Country Club used a 6-iron to ace No. 16, a 130-yard par-3.
William Lalley and Dr. Vernon witnessed Raitano’s first career ace.

PAC recognizes Evans
Waynesburg senior Jake Evans was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for his performance last Saturday at the John Summa Tournament held at Baldwin Wallace.
The Elizabeth Forward graduate earned his 175th career win on his way to picking up his fourth individual championship of the season. The heavyweight went 5-0 in the tournament with three falls, two in the first period, a technical fall and a forfeit to run his season record to 42-1.

Cal U pair honored
California University of Pa.’s Zyan Collins and Brionna Allen were both named the PSAC West Freshman of the Week for the play for the Vulcans.
Collins was recognized for the second time this season after setting a career high in points last week in two conference games. The guard averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists, including a career-high 24 points in the Vulcans’ 80-63 win over Clarion.
Allen averaged 7.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game for the Vulcans, who defeated Clarion, 91-62, on Wednesday and then were upset by Slippery Rock, 72-61.

Wingeart top track athlete
Waynesburg freshman Aubrey Wingeart was named the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend at the Youngstown State National Mid-Major Invitational and Jim Wuske Invitational.
Wingeart finished fifth in the 5,000 meters at Youngstown with a time of 17:58.13, the fastest time in the PAC indoor season to date. The freshman then anchored the Yellow Jackets’ distance medley relay to a second-place finish in the Jim Wuske Invitational to a converted time of 13:14.91, also the fastest time in the PAC this season.
