Rohanna shoots 73 in first round

Rachel Rohanna sits one stroke off the projected cut after shooting 73 in the opening round Friday of the Florida’s Natural Charity Classic.

The Waynesburg Central graduate is tied for 63rd place at 1-over-par.

Maude-Aimee Leblanc holds the first-round lead at 7-under 65.

Rohanna opened on the back nine at the County Club of Winter Haven. She birdied No. 11 and parred the remaining eight holes to go out in 1-under 35.

She gave the stroke back with a bogey on her 12th hole, but pulled back to 1-under with a birdie on No. 4, her 13th hole.

Rohanna slipped back to even for the round with a bogey on her 15th hole, then suffered a double-bogey 6 on her 17th hole to go to 2-over for the round.

She closed with a birdie to come back in 2-over 38.

Rohanna hit 8-of-13 fairways and 14-of-18 greens in regulation. She needed 34 putts to complete the round.
