Penn-Trafford edges Connellsville, 3-1
Connellsville opened up the scoring in the top of the first inning, but Penn-Trafford added two in the bottom of the frame and held on for a 3-1 victory over the Lady Falcons on Wednesday in Section 1-AAAAA play at Penn-Trafford.
The Lady Falcons’ Garrity Bungard had two triples, and teammate Mia Burd had a double and triple. Burd took the pitching loss, but only allowed three runs over seven innings.
The Lady Warriors added an insurance run in the sixth to take the section opener. Penn-Trafford’s Morgan Hilty allowed one run over seven in earning the pitching victory.
