Lady Maples cruise to 14-2 road win
Mapletown blew the game open with 10 runs in the top of the second inning as the Lady Maples cruised to a 14-2 non-section victory Friday afternoon at Turkeyfoot Valley.
Mapletown added single runs in the third and fourth innings for its first win of the season.
The Lady Rams scored single runs in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, but not enough to stave off the mercy rule.
Madi Blaker went the distance for the win, striking out 11 and walking one.
Hannah Hartley had a pair of doubles, two singles and drove in a run for the Lady Maples. Taylor Dusenberry had a two-run triple and an RBI single.
Mekenzie Reda doubled and added a single for the Lady Maples. Faith Burkholder-Walters stroked three singles and drove in a run.
Mapletown hosts Washington on Monday.
