Rohanna falters in final round, slips to 30th place
Rachel Rohanna started Sunday’s final round of the IOA Championship presented by Morongo Casino Resort & Spa in sixth place, but slipped down into a tie for 30th place.
The Waynesburg Central graduate finished with a 10-over 82 after carding three double bogeys and five bogeys. Rohanna did close the tournament with a birdie, though.
Rohanna finished with a three round total of 6-over 222.
“Yes, it was very rough. I’m just glad to see it played that way for everyone,” said Rohanna.
Jillian Hollis shot 2-over in the final round, but held on to win the Symetra Tour tournament with a 4-under 212. Only nine golfers shot even-par or better in the final round with Dewi Weber’s 70 the best round of the day.
Rohanna averaged 31 putts over the first two rounds, but ballooned up to 37 in the final round.
“I really struggled on the greens today, so it was good to have one fall (on the final hole),” said Rohanna.
She only hit 8-of-14 fairways and 9-of-18 greens in regulation, below her average in the first two rounds.
Rohanna and the Symetra Tour remain in California this week for the Windsor Golf Classic in Windsor, Calif.
