Playoff-bound Lady Rams rally past Vincentian Academy, 4-1

Playoff-bound Ringgold rallied for a 4-1 victory over Vincentian Academy on Wednesday in Section 4-AA girls’ tennis action at Ringgold.

The Lady Royals’ Ang Dalton got her team started off strong in a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Rebecca McIntosh at No. 1 singles.

The Lady Rams’ Julia Corey lost the first set, 6-3, to Olivia Roble, but came back for a 6-0 win in the second set and a 6-1 triumph in the third set to clinch the match. Teammate Alexis Davis downed Julia Kampas, 6-3, 6-2, heading into doubles action.

The team of Abbey Powell and Allyson Breinig topped Claire Nettlepon and Anina Hauser, 6-2, 6-2, to clinch the match for Ringgold (6-3, 7-6). The Lady Rams’ Courtney Berdar and Hannah Brooks topped Mia White and Bella Jones, 6-0, 6-2.

Ringgold hosts Southmoreland in non-section play this afternoon at 3:30 p.m. before the WPIAL Team Championships begin next week.
