Basinger, Kijowski score 2 goals apiece in Lady Raiders’ 6-0 win
Ashlyn Basinger and Rhea Kijowski scored two goals apiece in Waynesburg Central’s 6-0 triumph over Southmoreland in Section 3-AA play on Wednesday at Waynesburg Central High School.
Basinger’s first goal came at 32:54 of the first half in the only goal that Lady Raiders keeper McKenzie Booth would need. Jillian Kijowski assisted on Basinger’s tally.
Basinger set up Rhea Kijowski at 8:13 of the first, and scored her second with 4:32 remaining in the first half. Rhea Kijowski assisted on Basinger’s second tally.
Kaley Pell set up Jillian Kijowski 1:22 later for a 4-0 lead heading into the second half.
Basinger set up Rhea Kijowski at 25:44 of the second half and Kylie Sinn closed the scoring at 24:03. Callie Gibson assisted on Sinn’s goal.
Waynesburg Central (4-4, 6-5) had 18 shots on goal and Booth made nine saves for the clean sheet.
The Lady Raiders are at South Park (6-1-1, 8-3-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m.
The Lady Scotties (2-7, 3-7) host the Lady Eagles on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Both matches are in Section 3-AA.
