Huss scores 4 TDs in Derry Area’s 52-7 win over Red Raiders
Justin Huss scored four touchdowns in Derry Area’s 52-7 Big East Conference victory over Uniontown on Friday at Bill Power Stadium.
Huss scored on an 11-yard run at 6:16 of the first quarter for a 7-0 lead after the first of seven PATs by Chance White.
The Red Raiders (0-5, 0-7) responded on the ensuing drive, as the Trojans (4-1, 5-2) kicked the ball out of bounds to give Uniontown possession at its own 35.
The Red Raiders’ duo of Javon Davis and Torrey Robinson shared the load in moving the ball before Robinson capped the drive on a 30-yard run at 3:22 of the first quarter to tie things up after Clay Berkebile’s extra points.
Huss scored on a two-yard run for a 14-7 advantage for Derry Area heading into the second quarter.
Huss’ third touchdown came on an 11-yard run at 9:54 of the second and he returned a punt 85 yards for the score and a 28-7 lead.
Mike Kelly (14 yards) and Matt McDowell (16 yards) pulled in touchdowns receptions from Paul Koontz at 2:27 and with 37 seconds left in the second quarter for a 42-7 halftime advantage.
Tyler Cymmerman’s 14-yard run at 5:50 of the third quarter pushed the Trojans’ lead to 49-7 before White kicked a 40-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.
Josh Braxton, Braxton Swaney, Dakota Burkholder and Kevin Zahron contributed on defense for Uniontown.
The Red Raiders were celebrating Homecoming and Trinity Lax was crowned queen during halftime.
