Baldwin edges Ringgold, 2-1
Baldwin scored two first half goals and hung on for a 2-1 non-section victory over Ringgold on Saturday at Baldwin Stadium.
The Highlanders’ Bibas Rai scored off a scramble in front of the net 1:30 into the match and the home team pushed its lead to 2-0 in the 20th minute when Anthony Williams headed in a corner kick from Ray Thomas.
The Rams (8-4, 10-7) cut the deficit to 1 on senior Andrew Bottino’s tally after he received a pass from fellow senior Frankie Lowstetter. Ringgold kept pushing the attack, but Baldwin (5-7, 7-10-1) was able to maintain the advantage for the rest of the match.
Rams keeper Jeremy Mullen stopped seven shots. Ringgold had 14 shots and five on target.
