Bujdos’ goal lifts Rams past Carrick, 6-5

Brad Bujdos’ unassisted power play goal late in the third period Monday night lifted Ringgold to a 6-5 victory over visiting Carrick in PIHL Varsity South B Division action.

Bujdos scored his second goal of the game with just 3:02 remaining in the game. 

The Rams then had to fend off a power play in the final three minutes to preserve the victory.

Ringgold’s Zach Kalinowski opened the scoring just 22 seconds into the game, but Carrick led 2-1 after the first period.

The Rams (2-0-0) scored three goals in the second period for a 4-2 lead. Evan Eberlein tied the game with Kalinowski assisting on the goal. Bujdos netted a short-handed goal at 5:15, and Kalinowski scored the third goal of the period at 6:21.

Carrick (1-1-0) tied the game with two goals in the first 5:21 of the third period.

Chad DeGroen made 35 saves to preserve the win.
