Leopards run all over Plum, 58-17
Belle Vernon scored all the points it would need in the first quarter Friday night as the Leopards returned home from Plum with a 58-17 non-conference victory.
The Leopards (7-1) led 21-3 after the first quarter and 37-10 at halftime.
Belle Vernon quarterback Jared Hartman was nearly perfect, completing 25-of-27 passes for 277 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions.
Nolan Labuda caught a team-high eight passes for 71 yards, while Hunter Ruokonen reeled in seven catches for 78 yards.
Larry Callaway led Belle Vernon with 82 yards rushing on 14 carries, including touchdown runs of 7 and 1 yards.
Devin Whitlock also had a 58-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for the Leopards.
