Scotties fall on the road to GCC, 34-14
Southmoreland will enter the WPIAL playoffs on a losing note after falling Friday night at Greensburg Central Catholic, 34-14, in non-conference action.
The Scotties (5-5) led 7-3 at halftime on Colt Harper’s 5-yard touchdown run with three minutes left in the first quarter.
But, the Centurions (7-3) scored the first 17 points of the second half to pull away.
Anthony Govern’s 80-yard halfback-option pass to Brandon Peterson and Andrew Rodriguez’s kick broke the home team’s 20-point run.
Zach Cernuto completed 10-of-24 passes for 98 yards and an interception for the Scotties. Riley Comforti caught four passes for 39 yards.
