Brennen Stewart’s fourth-down touchdown pass lifted Frazier to a 20-14 Eastern Conference victory over visiting Springdale Friday night for the Commodores’ first victory of the season.

Stewart hit Andrew Bandish on a 10-yard scoring pass for the game-winning touchdown.

Frazier (1-4, 1-7) had two 100-yard rushers with Derek Diamond running for 108 yards and Chase Fulmer gaining 103 yards on nine carries.

Fulmer gained 67 of his total on a touchdown run in the first quarter to give the Commodores the early lead, 6-0.

The Dynamos (0-4, 1-7) responded with Chase Weihrauch’s 15-yard touchdown pass to Colton Gent. Noah Skaugen was successful on the point-after for a 7-6 lead.

Frazier regained the lead early in the second quarter when Stewart broke free from the Springdale defense for a 37-yard touchdown run. Stewart hit Fulmer for the two-point pass and a 14-7 lead.

Springdale tied the game late in the third quarter on Wiehrauch’s 14-yard touchdown run.

Weihrauch completed 11-of-24 passes for 200 yards. Gent was his favorite target with eight catches for 174 yards.

Trinity 38, Laurel Highlands 7 — The Hillers followed up last week’s upending of Thomas Jefferson with a Big Seven Conference road victory at Laurel Highlands, eliminating the Mustangs from the playoff race.

Trinity (3-2, 5-3) led 38-0 at halftime.

Quarterback Jonah Williamson had another solid game for the Hillers with 14 completions for 182 yards and touchdown passes of 11, 39 and 28 yards. He also ran 61 yards and a touchdown.

Antwan Black Jr. scored on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter for the Mustangs (0-4, 1-7).

Latrobe 50, Connellsville 28 — The Falcons were unable to keep pace with the Wildcats in a Big Seven Conference road loss.

Latrobe (4-1, 6-2) led 7-0, 23-14 and 36-22 at the quarter breaks.

Connellsville quarterback Anthony Piasecki accounted for the scores in the second quarter with an 18-yard touchdown pass to Capone Mickens and a 7-yard scoring run.

Latrobe’s Ja’Twan Williams scored twice in the second quarter. He sprinted to the end zone for a 76-yard touchdown run and returned the kickoff after Mickens’ touchdown 78 yards for a score.

Piasecki threw his second touchdown of the game on a 29-yard pass to Jayden McBride and then found Matt Miller open for the two-point conversion.

Latrobe’s John Wetzel had touchdown runs of 21 and 44 yards in the fourth quarter. He also had a scoring run in the first quarter.

Wetzel completed 8-of-10 passes for 147 yards. Brady Prohovic ran for 101 yards on 11 carries.

Piasecki and Mickens combined on a 39-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter for Connellsville (1-3, 4-4).

Piasecki completed 17-of-28 passes for 287 yards and Mickens had 10 receptions for 179 yards. Bruce Giles carried the ball 18 times for 184 yards.

Belle Vernon 55, Mount Pleasant 7 — The Leopards scored 48 unanswered points for an Interstate Conference road victory.

The teams combined for 28 points in the first quarter over a span of five minutes.

The Leopards’ Anthony Crews opened the scoring when he broke free from the defense on an end around for an 82-yard touchdown at 9:23. The two-point conversion failed.

The Vikings (1-2, 5-3) needed just one play to take their only lead when Dante Giallonardo caught a short pass from Cole Chatfield and weaved through the Belle Vernon defense for a 77-yard touchdown. Jarett Garn hit the extra point for a 7-6 lead at 8:57.

Belle Vernon was called for roughing the kicker on the extra point and Vikings opted to take the yards on the kickoff. With the ball at the Belle Vernon 45, Mount Pleasant attempted an onside kick.

Crews cradled the bouncing kick and sprinted through the Vikings to the 25-yard line. Quinton Martin scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 25-yard run.

Jake Gedekoh tacked on a 4-yard touchdown run with 4:03 left in the quarter.

Martin scored on another 25-yard run with 49 seconds elapsed in the second quarter.

Belle Vernon (3-0, 6-1) attempted an onside kick and the loose ball was covered by Kole Doppelheuer. As with the earlier kick, the onside kick led to a touchdown when Colton Lee capped the short drive with a 26-yard touchdown pass from Curtis Wade at 8:16.

Wade lofted a perfect pass to Martin for a 15-yard touchdown with 4:41 left in the half to enact the mercy rule.

Doppelheuer scored a pair of long touchdowns in the third quarter on a 50-yard pass from Wade and a 62-yard run.

Wade completed 8-of-10 passes for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Martin carried the ball six times for 94 yards. Gedekoh ran for 89 yards and Doppelheuer had 76 yards rushing and 88 receiving yards.

Belle Vernon ran for 461 yards and passed for 166. Mount Pleasant was held to 47 yards rushing and 77 passing yards.

Thomas Jefferson 71, Ringgold 0 — The Jaguars scored 36 points in the first quarter and didn’t take their foot off the game for a Big Seven Conference rout against the visiting Rams.

Jason Salman scored three touchdowns and Sean Sullivan found the end zone twice for Thomas Jefferson (3-1, 7-1). Luke Kosko had touchdown passes of 15, 11 and 69 yards.

Ringgold falls to 0-4 in the conference and 0-8 overall.

Elizabeth Forward 49, South Allegheny 15 — Ryan Messina threw two touchdown passes and ran for another score to lead the Warriors to an Interstate Conference road victory.

Messina threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Turner in the first quarter and 24 yards to Connor Fleming in the second quarter. Messina completed 9-of-11 passes for 108 yards. He also ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

Charlie Nigut had touchdown runs of 47 and 42 yards for Elizabeth Forward (3-0, 8-0), and finished with 120 yards rushing on only four carries.

South Allegheny slips to 0-3 in the conference and 1-7 overall.

Southmoreland 46, Greensburg Salem 12 — The Scotties led 11-0 after the first quarter and 25-0 at halftime for an Interstate Conference road victory.

Da’sjon Craggette had touchdown runs of 4, 3 and 4 yards for Southmoreland (2-1, 5-3) and finished with 95 yards rushing.

Kadin Keefer completed eight passes for 131 yards, including a 53-yard scoring pass to Wyatt Richter early in the first quarter. Richter added another touchdown when he scored on a 38-yard interception return.

Cameron Phillips scored on a 42-yard run for the Scotties. Ty Keffer caught six passes for 106 yards.

Greensburg Salem is 0-3 in the conference and 1-7 overall.

Apollo-Ridge 48, Yough 20 — Apollo-Ridge won its first Allegheny Conference game of the season with a victory over the visiting Cougars.

Julian Varrenti scored on runs of 39 and 9 yards for Yough (1-4, 2-6). Shane Swope powered into the end zone from three yards out.

Yough’s Raidon Kuroda completed 7-of-17 passes for 128 yards.

Karter Schrock completed 10 passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns (1-4, 2-6). He ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

Washington 67, Charleroi 0 — The Prexies rolled to a Century Conference victory at Charleroi.

Eddie Lewis ran for 166 yards and three touchdowns for Washington (4-0, 8-0). Tristan Reed completed four passes for 100 yards and a touchdown.

The Cougars slide to 0-4 in the conference and 0-7 overall.

West Greene 37, Beth-Center 12 — The Pioneers scored 15 points in the fourth quarter to secure a Tri-County South Conference road win over the Bulldogs in a battle of second-place teams.

West Greene remains in a tie with Jefferson-Morgan, one game behind first-place California, while Beth-Center drops into sole possession of fourth place. The win also clinched a playoff spot for the Pioneers.

West Greene’s Colin Brady opened the game by returning the opening kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown.

Johnny Lampe scored the next two touchdowns on short scoring runs for the Pioneers (4-1, 6-2).

Beth-Center’s Jonah Sussman scored the only touchdown in the third quarter on a 3-yard run.

Lampe came through in the fourth quarter with a 24-yard touchdown pass to Parker Burns and a 4-yard scoring run. Billy Whitlach ran for 140 yards on 17 carries.

Ethan Varesko scored on a 14-yard run for the Bulldogs (3-2, 3-5) in the fourth quarter. Varesko finished with 76 yards rushing.

California 58, Carmichaels 13 — The first-place Trojans led 38-7 at halftime and didn’t look back for a Tri-County South Conference road victory.

Spence Petrucci had touchdown runs of 35 and 22 yards for California (5-0, 7-1), and finished with 200 yards rushing on 22 carries.

Jake Layhue had a pair of short touchdown runs for the Trojans. Lee Qualk scored on a 20-yard run, and Malachi Peak and Landon Abercrombie had touchdown runs in the fourth quarter.

A.J. Donaldson tossed a 9-yard touchdown pass to Ambrose Adamson in the third quarter for the Mikes (1-4, 2-6) and Billy White closed the scoring with an 85-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Mapletown 38, Bentworth 36 — The Maples edged visiting Bentworth for a Tri-County South Conference victory, snapping a five-game losing streak and keeping their playoff hopes mathematically still alive.

Mapletown (1-4, 3-5) outscored Bentworth in the second half, 16-14, for the final point spread.

Bentworth’s Vitali Daniels threw a 59-yard touchdown pass to Lucas Burt with 5:35 left in the game. Burt caught five passes for 127 yards.

The Maples’ Evan Griffin scored on a 3-yard run just over a minute earlier. Griffin ran for 134 yards on 16 carries.

Daniels had a 5-yard touchdown run with 4:27 to go in the third quarter. Mapletown needed only 13 seconds to answer on AJ Vanata’s 61-yard touchdown pass to Brock Evans.

The teams were tied at halftime, 22-22.

Daniels had two touchdown passes and Benjamin Luketich scored on a 4-yard run in the first half for Bentworth (1-4, 2-6). Daniels ran for 126 yards and threw for 163 yards.

Evans ran for two touchdowns and Vanata scored on one in the first half for the Maples. Vanata completed six passes for 141 yards. Evans had three receptions for 78 yards.

Bentworth amassed 476 total yards of offense, while Mapletown had 412 total yards.

The Bearcats also remain in playoff contention despite the loss.

Jefferson-Morgan 46, Monessen 12 — Deakyn Dehoet scored four touchdowns and the Rockets scored all the points they needed in the first quarter for a Tri-County South Conference victory over the visiting Greyhounds.

Jefferson-Morgan (4-1, 5-3), which clinched a playoff spot with the victory, led 16-6, 22-12 and 38-12 at the quarter breaks.

The Rockets’ Houston Guesman completed all eight of his pass attempts for 206 yards and three touchdowns, all to Dehoet, who also returned a kickoff 79 yards for a score. Guesman added 31 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Dehoet caught six passes for 192 yards. Colin Bisceglia finished with 107 yards rushing and John Woodward ran for 41 yards and a touchdown for the Rockets.

Jefferson-Morgan was five for six on 2-point conversion attempts with Woodward accounting for two and Dehoet, Guesman and Biscegllia converting one apiece.

Both of Monessen’s touchdowns came on kickoff returns by Tim Kershaw of 86 yards and Tyvaughn Kershaw of 82 yards. Despite the loss, the Greyhounds (1-4, 2-5) remain alive for a playoff spot.

Weir (W.Va.) 34, Albert Gallatin 0 — Weir broke open a close game with 21 points in third quarter for a non-conference win at Albert Gallatin.

The Red Raiders (7-1) led 7-0 at halftime.

Cyrus Potkul led the Colonials (3-5) with 18 carries for 91 yards with a long of 21 yards. Caleb HeHaven added 10 attempts for 63 yards on the ground.

Meyersdale 45, Brownsville 0 — The Red Raiders blanked the visiting Falcons in a non-conference game.

Meyersdale improves to 4-4 while the Falcons fall to 1-5.
