Lady Falcons eke out 1-0 victory
Iris Burd drove in the game’s only run Wednesday afternoon in Connellsville’s 1-0 victory over visiting Thomas Jefferson in Section 4-AAAA action.
Jaylee Moorhead opened the bottom of the third inning with a double and moved to third on Rylee Dreves’ infield ground out. Burd then brought home Moorhead with a sacrifice fly.
Burd also picked up the victory, allowing three hits, walking just one and striking out four. The Lady Jaguars only had one runner advance to second base.
Connellsville also threatened in the bottom of the sixth inning with two outs. Kirra Davis had a single and attempted to score on Cali Leichliter’s double, but was thrown out at the plate for the final out.
