CONNELLSVILLE – The trio of A’kira Dade, Grace Trimmer and Lyric McLee combined for six overall first-place finishes Tuesday afternoon to lead the Uniontown girls to a pair of Section 2-AAA victories at Connellsville Stadium.

The Lady Raiders defeated Elizabeth Forward, 87-62, and the Lady Falcons, 77-72. Connellsville earned a split with a 113-37 victory over the Lady Warriors.

Dade won the 100 (12.1) and 200 (27.5), and anchored the victorious 400 relay.

Dade has her sights set on getting her name on the track records board.

“Definitely, the 100 is what I’m aiming for. Going for Breehana Jacobs’ record is something I’ve been looking forward to since my freshman year. I haven’t been able to run my freshman and sophomore year, so this year is a big year for me to get my name on that board.

“I’m at 12.1 (seconds), that’s my best time. She’s at 11.8, so I’m right there. With that time I’ve already made it to WPIALs, so that’s another big accomplishment I hit last year.

Dade has a basic approach to meeting her goals, and certainly appreciated the sunny, warm afternoon.

“Honestly, I’m happy. I take everything as a lesson. I’ve been through a lot. I’m just happy I’m here and able to run,” said Dade, adding, “I’m one person that feels the weather defines my mood. Sun makes me feel good.”

Trimmer finished first overall in the 800 (2:29) and 1,600 (5:23), and helped the Lady Raiders win the 3,200 relay. McLee won the long jump (15-1) and triple jump (31-10½) against both teams. Emily Angelo was first overall in the 3,200 (13:14), as was Addy Martin in the 400.

The Lady Falcons’ Grace Bosnic celebrated Senior Day by winning the 300 intermediate hurdles in 51.2 seconds, and placing second overall in the 100 and 200.

“I’m content with myself. My family was here. I think that pushed me a bit,” said Bosnic. “I really don’t have a time in my mind. I just want to beat someone.”

Connellsville’s Sophia Morrison (100 high hurdles), Khyler Tony (high jump), Larissa Franks (pole vault), Madelynn Johnson (shot put, discus), and Elizabeth Painter (javelin) had first-place finished against Uniontown.
