Vikings’ Garn sprints to two medals in WCCA meet
Mount Pleasant’s Jarett Garn sprinted to two medals Thursday afternoon in the annual WCCA Track & Field Championship at Latrobe Memorial Stadium.
Garn finished fourth in the 200 with a time of 22.68 seconds and placed sixth in the 100 in 11.33 seconds.
The Vikings’ 3,200 relay finished eighth in 9:18.21. Garrett Eicher was eighth in the pole vault after clearing 12 feet. Aiden Johnson was fourth in the triple jump with a top effort of 41-1¼.
Southmoreland’s Adam Halinka placed fifth in the 300 intermediate hurdles with a time of 41.79 seconds. Teammate Stanley Betters tied for eighth in the high jump after clearing 5-6½.
Yough’s Colby Fender was seventh in the discus with a throw of 116-11.
Belle Vernon’s Sienna Steeber earned all-county honors by finishing fourth in the pole vault with a height of 10-6.
Mount Pleasant’s Rylin Bugosh placed fourth in the 200 in 27.15 seconds.
Southmoreland’s Lexi Ohler ran to a fifth-place finish in the 3,200 in 12:16.11. Addie Billheimer was sixth in the shot put with a throw of 32-3¼. Lizzy Boone placed seventh in the high jump after clearing 4-10½.
The Lady Scots’ 3,200 relay was third in 10:08.44.
