Predajna, Pitzer, Weightman win WCCA wrestling titles

Mount Pleasant’s Stephen Predajna and Dylan Pitzer, plus Belle Vernon’s Giovanni Weightman, won titles Saturday at the WCCA Wrestling Championships held at Greensburg Salem.

Predajna won a 5-0 decision at 160 pounds against Latrobe’s Braden Bronson. Pitzer pinned Southmoreland’s Jacob Govern in just 27 seconds in the 285-pound title bout.

Weightman secured a 12-4 major decision at 139 pounds over Franklin Regional’s Cohen Buccicone.

The Leopards’ Kole Doppelheur lost an 8-5 decision in the 145-pound final to Derry’s Mason Horwat. The Vikings’ Jamison Poklembo was edged 1-0 in the 152-pound title bout by Hempfield’s Eli Carr.

Mount Pleasant’s Joseph Longhi (139) and Greg Shaulis (145), Southmoreland’s Landon Delara (160), and Belle Vernon’s Elijah Brown (172) finished third.

Belle Vernon’s Luke Bryer (215) and Perry Riggle (285) placed fourth.

The Leopards’ Austin Hoffman won his fifth-place consolation bout at 189 pounds. Mount Pleasant’s Nick Stabile (107) and Southmroeland’s Kaden Shannon (215) finished sixth.
