FCALBL tournament set to open on Tuesday

The Fayette County American Legion Baseball League playoffs get underway Tuesday night with quarterfinal round games.

Smithfield-Fairchance travels to Uniontown, the third-place team, for the first game of the best-of-3 series. Charleroi, the fourth-place team, hosts Colonial 3.

The second game of the series moves to the visitors’ site of the first game, and should a third game be necessary, it will be played on Friday at the sites of the first game.

Belle Vernon, the regular season champion, and Connellsville, the second-place team, received byes and will play the winners of the quarterfinal series, beginning on Sunday.
