Dean strikes out 17 as Uniontown Legion clinches series

Clay Dean struck out 17 and allowed just one hit Wednesday night as Uniontown clinched its Fayette County American Legion Baseball League playoff series with a 10-1 victory at Colonial 3.

Uniontown travels to Connellsville on Monday for the first game of the best-of-3 semifinal series.

Uniontown scored in each inning with one run in the first, second, third, sixth and seventh innings, two in the fourth inning and three in the fifth inning.

Dean allowed Hunter Pelehac’s double in the bottom of the second inning. Pelehac scored on Trent Wible’s sacrifice fly. Dean didn’t walk a batter.

Eanh Stevenson, Noah Lion and Wyatt Nehls all doubled for Uniontown.

Mason Kuhn led Uniontown with three hits and three runs scored. Parker Hoff drove in three runs and finished with two hits. Nehls added two hits and two RBI.

Logan Brown took the loss for Colonial 3.
