Vikings open season with 5-0 victory

The Mount Pleasant boys tennis team opened the season in style Tuesday with a 5-0 non-section victory over visiting McGuffey.

The Vikings’ Aydan Gross didn’t drop a game in his straight-sets win at No. 1 singles. Luke Domasky lost only one game in his victory at No. 2 singles.

Carter Mates needed a third set to win third singles. He finished off the match with a 7-5 victory in the final set.

Brandon Wilson and Nico Pisula won their No. 1 doubles match, 7-6 (5), 6-4. Colin Hayes and Tyler Kurtz closed the shutout with a 6-1, 6-4 win at second doubles.
