Warriors skate to 11-1 road victory

Elizabeth Forward built a 5-0 lead after the first period Monday night and didn’t look back on its way to an 11-1 PIHL D2 victory at Sewickley Academy.

Bobby Boord Jr. Bela Csikesz, Cam Thompson, Blake Hvozdik and Cam Thompson all scored one goal in the first period for the Warriors (4-2-1-0).

Boord Jr. scored his second goal just 1:25 into the second period, and completed his hat trick with a goal at 13:28. Luke Forbes added a short-handed goal at 9:11.

Mathew Johnston made the score 9-1 with a power play goal at 3:21 of the final period. Thompson scored his second goal of the game at 4:37 and Patrick Malandra closed the scoring with a power play goal with 45 seconds remaining.

Elizabeth Forward’s Andrew Weir stopped 19 shots. Jack Carlson had 39 saves for Sewickley Academy (0-6-0-0).
