Falcons lose to Neshannock in shootout, 4-3
Neshannock forced overtime and then won the shootout for a 4-3 victory over visiting Connellsville in a PIHL D2 White Division game.
Neshannock’s John Moniodes scored the first goal of the game at 3:57 of the second period.
Connellsville surged into the lead (4-1-1-1) with goals from Liam King and Hunter Garlick.
The Lancers’ Ben Hamilton tied the game with a goal at 8:53.
Tony Fleck’s power play goal gave the Falcons the lead early in the third period. Sam Mezzanotte tied the game 10 minutes later.
Nick Daniels-Nimmick stopped 23 shots for the Falcons. Tripp Johns had 14 saves for the Lancers (3-3-1-0).
Ringgold 6, Wilmington 2 – The Rams built a 3-0 lead in the first period for a PIHL D2 White Division road victory at Wilmington.
Bruce Santina scored a power play goal at 3:52 to spot Ringgold (4-2-1-0) the early lead. Caden Doran’s goal 8½ minutes later stretched the advantage to 3-0.
Santina scored the lone goal of the second period for a 4-0 lead.
Talon Rifenburg netted a power play goal at 10:37 of the third period and Doran added his second goal of the game.
Alex Rodgers scored two goals in the third period, including a short-handed goal, for Wilmington (0-4-0-0).
Braidee Blackburn stopped 12 shots for the Rams. Wilmington’s Craig Pattereson made 38 saves.
