Frazier’s Hartman, Yauch on WPIAL volleyball first team

Another outstanding girls volleyball season by Frazier was reflected in two sets of postseason honors.

The Lady Commodores had two players — Gracen Hartman and Molly Yauch — selected for the WPIAL Class A All-Stars First Team and six named to the Section 2-A team.

Also selected to the Class A First Team was West Greene’s Kasie Meek, a 5-foot-10 senior outside hitter. Hartman, a 5-9 junior, was selected as an outside hitter/setter and Yauch, a 5-3 senior, as a libero.

The Lady Commodores put two players — 5-10 sophomore right side hitter Maddie Salisbury and 5-11 junior outside hitter Grace Vaughn — on the Class A Second Team.

Four local players earned Class A third-team honors. They were California 5-5 senior setter Azzy Colditz and 5-7 senior outside hitter Raegan Gillen, Carmichaels 5-9 sophomore middle hitter Ari Cree and Mapletown 5-4 junior setter Bailey Rafferty.

Two area players — Laurel Highlands’ 5-9 junior outside hitter Alexandra Mattey and Ringgold 5-9 senior outside hitter Aubrey Siwula — were named to the WPIAL Class AAA All-Stars Third Team.

Southmoreland 5-10 senior middle hitter Amarah McCutcheon was selected to the WPIAL Class AA All-Stars Second Team and teammate Taylor Doppelheuer, a 6-0 junior middle hitter, was named to the Third Team.

Hartman, Salisbury, Vaughn and Yauch all earned Section 2-A First Team honors, as did Meek, Rafferty, Colditz and Cree. Also on the First Team were West Greene 5-6 senior setter Allexis Berdine and California 5-3 senior libero Rakiyah Porter.

Section 2-A Second Team honors went to Frazier 5-11 freshman setter/outside hitter Allie Monack and 5-11 sophomore middle hitter Addison Schultz, Mapletown 5-3 senior libero Brianna Ashton and 5-2 senior right side hitter Devan Clark, California 5-6 senior outside hitter Nina Conte and Gillen, Jefferson-Morgan senior setter/right side hitter Kayla Larkiin, West Greene 5-0 junior libero Marissa Tharp and 5-8 junior middle hitter Pieper Whipkey, and Carmichaels 5-7 senior setter Chloe Mitchell.

Chosen for the Section 2-A Third Team were Carmichaels 5-7 sophomore outside hitter Bailey Barnyak, 5-6 sophomore middle hitter and defensive specialist Payton Plavi and 5-9 junior outside hitter Pacey Pratt, Mapletown 5-6 junior middle hitter Isabella Garnek and 5-10 sophomore middle hitter Miranda Wise, Jefferson-Morgan 6-1 junior middle hitter IsaBelle Bazzoli and 5-5 senior setter Ali Ostrich, California 5-5 junior setter Ava Bojtos, Geibel Catholic 5-0 senior libero Halie Hart, and Avella 5-8 junior outside hitter/defensive specialist Jaylyn Moore.
