California’s Neil wins Field MVP at Wash-Greene County meet

California’s Ella Neil had first, second and third-place finishes in earning the Field MVP on Friday in the Washington-Greene County Track & Field Championships at Canon-McMillan’s AHN Field.
Neil won the triple jump in 34-05.50 and was second in the high jump with a leap of 4-11. She flew 16-00 feet to place third in the long jump.
Beth-Center’s Deakyn DeHoet edged Trinity’s Jake Phillips in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.05. Phillips crossed the finish line in 11.08. DeHoet, who is a Jefferson-Morgan student that also plays baseball, tied with Phillips in the 200 at 22.28. Canon-McMillan’s Aaron Taylor won the race in 22.15.
California’s Carter Kent won the 800-meter run in 2:04.82. He was second to Trinity’s Devin Junko in the 1,600 with a time of 4:39.43. Junko crossed the finish line in 4:35.84.
The Trojans’ Lee Qualk won the long jump in 22-04.50.
