Clark dominates in Lady Falcons’ victory

Ava Clark did a little bit of everything in Brownsville’s 14-0 victory over Fort Cherry on Monday in non-section play at Fort Cherry.

Clark didn’t allow a run on one hit in five innings. She had 13 strikeouts and no walks. Clark doubled and tripled for two of the Lady Falcons’ four hits.

Mia Ohern doubled and Lena Rechichar tripled for Brownsville (1-0).

The Lady Falcons scored five runs in the first, one apiece in the second and third, and seven in the fourth.

Brownsville hosts Ringgold on Wednesday in non-section play.

Baseball

Frazier 20, Washington 7 — The Prexies cut the deficit to three in the bottom of the fourth inning, but a 13-run fifth carried the Commodores to a non-section victory in five innings at Wild Things Park.

Frazier (1-0) had a 5-0 lead after the first inning and a 7-0 advantage following the second before Washington (0-2) scored four for a 7-4 lead.

The Commodores extended their advantage to 20-4 in the top of the fifth. The Prexies countered with three runs in their half of the frame, but were not able to get within nine runs to prolong the game, which was called due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Aidan Hardy allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits over four innings for the victory. He struck out four and walked one. Hardy had three hits and three RBIs with a double and triple.

Teammates Tyler Monack, Logan Solomon and Noah Bachinski had one double apiece. Chase Fulmer hit a home run for Frazier.

Tyler Morrison led the Commodores in RBIs with four. He had two hits.

Bachinski, Fulmer and Monack each had two hits.

Washington’s Isaac Charnik doubled and knocked in four runs.
