Andrew Bottino scored four goals in Ringgold’s 4-0 Section 3-AAA victory over Albert Gallatin on Monday night at Albert Gallatin.
The Colonials (1-1, 4-1) play tough defensively in the first half, but the Rams (2-1, 3-3) were able to get the upper hand, as freshman Zach Alvarez found Bottino for the goal just before halftime and a 1-0 lead for the visitors. Alvarez’s assist was the first point of his career.
Dylan Wujcik set up Bottino for Ringgold’s second and third goals before Frankie Lowstetter set up Bottino for the final tally at the 27-minute mark of the second half.
Lowstetter and Jason Vaccaro were strong in the midfield during final 40 minutes, and allowed the Rams to dictate the pace and not allowing Albert Gallatin to maintain possession.
The Rams held a 23-9 advantage in shots, with 15 being on target. The Colonials had four shots on goal, but Ringgold keeper Jeremy Mullen stopped them all for the clean sheet.
Colonial keeper Christian Hicks made 11 saves.
The Rams are at Elizabeth Forward (2-0, 2-1) on Thursday in a non-section match at 7:30.
Albert Gallatin looks to rebound on Thursday when it travels to Uniontown (0-2, 0-4) for a Section 3-AAA match at 7:30 p.m.
