Belle Vernon’s Grace Henderson finished sixth among Class AA runners Saturday in the PIAA Foundation Invitational, competed on the state cross country course at Hershey Park.
Henderson completed the 5K course in 20:12. Northern’s Marlee Starliper finished first in 17:40.
Ringgold placed three boys in the top 20 in the boys Class AA race, led by Lucas Pajak in sixth place with a time of 17:08.5.
The Rams’ Ethan Gamble was 13th overall in 17:30.7 and Ben Daerr placed 16th in 17:31.9.
Ringgold finished fifth in the team standings with 206 points. Lorenzo Zeni (69 for team scoring, 19:10.2), Nick Whaley (103, 19:56.6), David Molisee (122, 20:24.7), and Dominic Bottino (175, 23:00.8) also competed for the Rams.
Laurel Highlands’ Brendan Kopich was 23rd overall (and 21st for team scoring) in the same race with a time of 17:48.0.
Isaac Meeder (45 for team scoring, 18:35.5), Joe Casteel (60, 18:51.3), Bretty Lemansky (64, 19:00.2), Michael Brown (119, 20:22.6), Ryan VanVerth (166, 22:16.8), and Logan Miller (169, 22:21.0) helped the Mustangs to ninth place with a score of 309.
The Ringgold girls were 23rd in the girls Class AA race, led to the finish line by Andrea Kassa in 80th place (for team scoring) in 23:39. Anjolina Hrysko (96, 24:14), Matigan Evans (103, 24:39), Kylie Krivijanski (143, 27:00), Kaitlyn Lusk (148, 27:45), and Emily Rosenberg (158, 29:16) also ran for the Lady Rams.
The Laurel Highlands girls were 26th in the AA race. Elena Cavanaugh was the first to cross the finish line, placing 111th (for team scoring) in 24:59. Adrienne Mattey (135, 26:18), Isabella Stefanini (139, 26:44), Elizabeth Thomas (140, 26:52), and Calissa Jones (152, 28:28) also had scoring runs for the Fillies.
