The Bentworth girls soccer team secured the Section 2-A title outright Monday night with a 9-0 victory at Beth-Center.

The Lady Bearcats (11-0, 15-1) close the regular season Wednesday against Monessen. The Lady Bulldogs also secured a playoff berth, finishing fourth with a section record of 6-6 and an overall mark of 8-9.

Jasmine Manning tied the single-season record for shutouts set by Jeanna Brewer in 2014 with her 11th of the season.

Jocelyn Timlin scored five goals, Paige Marshalek netted a hat trick, and Lindsay Davis scored once for Bentworth.

Bentworth coach Tyler Hamstra had high praise for both squads, saying, "Beth-Center played great tonight. They have eight seniors just like us."

"We are peaking at the right time. We really elevated our game tonight," added Hamstra.
