Jocelyn Timlin scored her 150th career goal Wednesday night and the Bentworth girls capped another undefeated Section 2-A season with a 12-0 victory over visiting Monessen.
Timlin finished with a hat trick as the Lady Bearcats, the No. 2 seed in the WPIAL Class A playoffs, finish the section schedule with a 12-0 mark and an overall record of 16-1-0. Bentworth also went undefeated last year in section play.
The Lady Bearcat seniors have not lost a home match over their four-year careers.
Paige Marshalek scored four goals in the victory, while Caroline Rice, Lindsay Davis, Tessa Charpentier, Reagan Schreiber and Rori Schreiber all scored once.
Jasmine Manning recorded her single-season record 12th shutout.
"I can’t say enough about our defense. We only gave up two goals in section play all year. They don’t get enough credit," praised Bentworth coach Tyler Hamstra. "Hannah Roberts is one of the best defenders in the section. She really did a great job all year being often the only upperclassmen in the back line."
Davis also set the school record for career starts with 76, breaking Danielle Gondak's mark.
Monessen ends the season at 2-10 in the section and 4-14 overall.
