WPGA squad three-peats in Williamson Cup

The Western Pennsylvania Golf Association team of (from left) Angus McHolme, Scott Bitar, Neal Shipley and Brady Pevarnik won the 56th annual Williamson Cup played at Irondequoit Country Club (N.Y.) on Monday and Tuesday. The victory marks a three-peat for the WPGA squad in the annual tournament that matches foursomes from the east coast. The WPGA squad had a two-round total of 10-under 422 (209-213) to finish nine strokes ahead of the Golf Association of Philadelphia. Pevarnik was medalist with a 7-under 137 (66-71). Shipley finished fourth with 2-under 142 (72-70), one stroke ahead of McHolme, an Elizabeth Forward grad, with 71-72. Bitar tied for 10th with 3-over 147 (74-73). McHolme also competed in the 116th WPGA Open Championship on July 16-18 at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray, finishing in a tie for 29th place with a three-day total of 6-over 222 (72-74-76).
