Ella Zambruno edged her twin sister Meghan out for medalist honors with a 5-over-par 77 as the duo helped lead Greensburg Central Catholic to its fifth consecutive WPIAL Class AA girls team golf championship on Thursday.

Meghan Zambruno was one stroke behind with a 78 on the Cedarbrook Golf Course, Red course, as the Lady Centurions turned in a score of 353 to easily top the four-team field.

Central Valley was second (404), Ellwood City third (449) and Elizabeth Forward placed fourth.

Following the Zambruno twins, who reside in Bullskin Township, for GCC were Angelika Dewicki (91) and Olivia Kana (107), with Haley Morgan’s score (120) dropped.

Leading the way for the Lady Warriors was Sarah Gossman with a 95. She was followed by Megan Lewonas (116), Samantha Large (126) and Makayla Madden (128), with Jensen Kuhn’s score (149) dropped.

Upper St. Clair won the highly competitive Class AAA girls title with a score of 340, just four strokes ahead of North Allegheny (344). Peters Township (352) was third and Fox Chapel (356) was fourth.

Fox Chapel won the Class AAA boys title with a score of 386 and was followed by Upper St. Clair (398), Shady Side Academy (400), Seneca Valley (412), Central Catholic (415) and Peters Township (419).

The Class AA boys championship went to Sewickley Academy with a score of 406, 22 strokes ahead of North Catholic (428). Neshannock (432) was third, followed by Quaker Valley (437), Derry (465) and Riverside (473).
