PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Cornerback Jordan Henderson woke up No. 3 Ohio State early in the second half with a 93-yard interception return for a touchdown and the Buckeyes rallied from their first halftime deficit of the season to beat vastly improved Rutgers 35-16. Kyle McCord hit Marvin Harrison Jr. on two of his three touchdown passes and TreVeyon Henderson ran for 128 yards and score as the Buckeyes (9-0, 6-0 Big, No. 1 in CFP) beat Rutgers (6-3, 3-3) for the 10th straight time. Gavin Wimsatt threw a touchdown pass to JaQuae Jackson, Jai Petel hit three short field goals and Kyle Monangai ran for 159 yards for his third straight over the century mark.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Blake Corum matched his season high with three touchdowns and Semaj Morgan ran for a 44-yard score, leading No. 2 Michigan to a 41-13 victory over Purdue on Saturday night. The Wolverines (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) routed another overmatched opponent, as they have each game this season, amid an NCAA investigation into allegations that they broke rules with a sign-stealing scheme. Purdue coach Ryan Walters said two days before the game that he knew “for a fact” that Michigan was at number of his team’s games, forcing his players to learn a new language. The Boilermakers (2-7, 1-5) used a staffer and backup quarterbacks to signal plays from the sideline as they have appeared to do all season.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — University of Michigan President Santa Ono sent an email to Big Ten Commissioner Tony Petitti, imploring the conference to wait for results of the NCAA’s sign-stealing investigation before potentially taking action against the Jim Harbaugh-led football program. Michigan athletics spokesman Kurt Svoboda shared the contents of Ono’s email with The Associated Press on Saturday night, when the third-ranked Wolverines played Purdue at home. Connor Stalions, the former low-level Michigan football staffer at the center of the probe into impermissible scouting and sign stealing, resigned Friday.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Drew Allar threw three of his four touchdown passes in the first half and No. 9 Penn State easily handled Maryland 51-15 to set up a showdown with Michigan next week. The Nittany Lions never were in danger of their meeting with fading Maryland becoming a trap game. The Terrapins have dropped four in a row, and a season that began with five straight wins is in danger of really unraveling. Penn State season leading receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith went down holding his left knee during the fourth quarter but he was able to walk off.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — John Paddock relieved the injured Luke Altmyer and went 3 for 3 for 85 yards to lift Illinois from a huge hole and deliver the go-ahead 46-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Williams with 50 seconds left for a 27-26 victory over stunned Minnesota. Altmyer passed for 212 yards and a career-high three touchdowns for the Illini. They faced fourth-and-11 from their 15-yard line with 1:24 left when Paddock came in cold with the drive of his life that knocked the Gophers out of their tie for first place in the diluted Big Ten West Division.

CHICAGO (AP) — Drew Stevens nailed a tiebreaking 53-yard field goal in the closing seconds, and Iowa beat Northwestern 10-7 at Wrigley Field. Anyone who predicted a baseball score with two teams not known for moving the ball meeting at the iconic ballpark weren’t that far off. Tied for the Big Ten West lead and last in the nation in total offense, Iowa answered after Northwestern drove for a tying touchdown with just under two minutes remaining. The Hawkeyes, aided by a 23-yard pass from Deacon Hill to Kaleb Brown, drove from the 28 to the Northwestern 35. After missing a 53-yarder off the upright in the first quarter, Stevens nailed one on fourth-and-7 to make it 10-7 with 14 seconds remaining, delighting the large contingent of fans wearing black and gold.

UNDATED (AP) — Connor Stalions, the low-level Michigan football staffer who is at the center of an NCAA investigation into impermissible scouting of opponents and sign stealing, has resigned. He had been suspended with pay two weeks ago. An AP source says Stalions failed to show up for a scheduled hearing Friday and informed the school he would not participate in any investigations. Michigan is under NCAA investigation for the alleged scheme.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Indiana quarterback Brendan Sorsby ran for one touchdown and threw for another, leading the Hoosiers past short-handed Wisconsin 20-14. The Hoosiers snapped a six-game conference losing streak that dated to last November. Wisconsin lost its first road game in the series since 2002. The Badgers played without their starting quarterback or either of their top two running backs. Indiana won despite gaining only 36 yards and scoring only three points in the second half — a 50-yard field goals with 70 seconds left.
