Filmmaker fails to find heart of ‘Windtalkers’ story”Windtalkers” does a great service by revealing the important work (long unknown because the military kept the top-secret information classified until the late 1960s) done by Navajo code talkers who saved thousands of lives and shortened the war. It’s too bad the R-rated film doesn’t provide the emotional rush we should feel while watching these brave Marines go above and beyond in their patriotic duties as they risk their lives and create a code that the Japanese military was never able to break.
