Hugh Grant plays charming cad in offbeat romantic comedy, ‘About a Boy’

By Lou Gaul Calkins Media Film Critic 1 min read

During “About a Boy,” the Weitz brothers insert a message about the messiness of real life and the importance of everyone pulling together to help each other. Fortunately, they never allow the uplifting theme to overwhelm Grant’s character, a selfishly unrepentant man who would easily fit into the “Seinfeld” universe and reluctantly recognizes the importance of relationships.
