‘Adorabella’ relaxes on bench as she waits for her final brick installation”Adorabella,” the title of the 75th anniversary statue/sculpture unveiled last August by the Uniontown Art Club, is getting ready for her final memorial brick installation.

Plans to add another bench to the site, now consisting of one bench, two planters and the seated statue, are in the works for the coming year. Both the club and the library have received mostly positive responses from the sculptural installation after the initial installation last August, according to Madelyn Cindric, who serves as a secretary for the Uniontown Art Club.

Cindric said a call was placed to the library before the statue’s unveiling telling the librarians that “someone had left a shrouded body on the bench in front of the library and someone should notify the authorities.”

They later found out that “the body” was none other than Uniontown’s “Adorabella,” the winning entry in the “name the statue contest” held last year at the library.

And that bench where she was seated was going to be her permanent “resting place” for years to come.

Anyone who wants to buy a brick for a loved one (or yourself) and have neglected to do so is encouraged to take a minute and do so now.

The attractively engraved bricks serve as a permanent memorial at the statue’s base in front of the library.

Brick installation will be done within the next month.

Buy-a-brick forms are also available at the library’s front desk.
