Audience to laugh when ‘Fools’ bring comedy to Scottdale

SCOTTDALE – Auditions were held recently and the roles were cast for Actors and Artists of Fayette County’s April production of Neil Simon’s comedy “Fools,” which is scheduled for performance Thursday through Sunday, April 3-6, at Scottdale Showtime Theatre. Making up the veteran cast are Eric Lash of West Newton, Marlena C. Solomon of Scottdale, Richard A. Means of Scottdale, Allison Kring of Scottdale, Ren Rinier of Kecksburg, Paul Appleby of Uniontown, Mike Hill of Scottdale, John Cunnard of Everson, Jennifer R. Greenawalt of Madison and Jim Overly of Scottdale.

Director Georg R. Banks of Scottdale will be assisted by stage manager Laurie London of Uniontown and technical director Bob Pelzer of Bear Rocks.

“Fools” was originally presented by AAFC in August 1988 and is being reprised in the year-long celebration of the 15th anniversary of the opening of Scottdale Showtime Theatre.

Curtain times for AAFC’s “Fools” are 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 3-5, and 3:15 p.m. Sunday, April 6.

Tickets for “Fools” are available at the theater box office during regular box office hours from Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon or by calling 724-887-0887. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Actors and Artists of Fayette County, Scottdale Showtime Theatre and the Lido Caf’ will offer Luncheon Before the Lights at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 3. Luncheon Before the Lights is a brief program about the current AAFC show, a light supper consisting of a deli-style sandwich, a pasta salad, a fruit salad, desert, beverage and a ticket to the performance. Reservations for Luncheon Before the Lights are required.
