Jim Brickman to unwrap gift of ‘Peace’ during holiday event in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH – They say there’s no place like home for the holidays, unless it’s the warm and intimate setting of a holiday concert with Jim Brickman. The talented performer-composer has become America’s favorite popular piano artist, known for his magical way of capturing the spirit of the season through song and showmanship. Brickman unwraps his newest collection of holiday songs in a memorable evening of music at the Benedum Center at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, when he turns the stage into a musical wonderland of beloved Christmas carols, new and inspiring melodies, and a heartfelt gift of “Peace” with some very special guests in “Jim Brickman & Friends – The Holiday Concert.”
Brickman will be joined on stage for an evening of music, memories, laughter and song by Jeff Timmons (of the multi-platinum selling group 98 Degrees), Today Show “Superstar” Kristy Starling, Anne Cochran and electric violinist Tracy Silverman.
“Peace,” the name of Brickman’s Grammy-nominated holiday album, is filled with fresh interpretations of traditional holiday favorites and original compositions that weave the joy and promise of peace in all of its unique incarnations: from the gathering of families at a dining room table to prayers for a war-torn world. The CD includes the number-one Billboard holiday hit “Sending You A Little Christmas,” an emotional tribute to those far away during a season of intimacy and togetherness, performed by Kristy Starling. Brickman is one of pop music’s most fascinating success stories, rising from a commercial jingle writer to become a cultural phenomenon for his instrumental titled “Angel Eyes” and vocal titled “Valentine” and “The Gift” hits.
