‘Red Hat’ mommas enjoy life

1 min read

The Red Hat Society, the latest women’s movement to sweep across the nation and into Fayette County, met recently at Braddock Restaurant to organize a new mountain area chapter. The club’s theme is “the need to play and enjoy the whimsical aspects of life.” The women age 50 and older wear red hats and purple dresses. Women under age 50 dress in pink hats and lavendar outfits. Club members include (standing, from left) Bettie O’Neil, Alice Hager, Elizabeth Myers, Joanne Hager and Margie Dugan (sitting, from left) Kay Keller, Shirley Workman, Nancy Shockey and Judy Van Bremen.
