Steel City Quartet to host banquet
CENTERVILLE – Steel City Quartet will host its annual banquet on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Hugo’s Restaurant, 687 National Pike West (Route 40 West) in Centerville. The event will feature food, fellowship, prizes and gospel music.
For tickets and reservations, call Chuck and Dara Johnson at 724-785-3340.
Steel City Quartet is a local but nationally known gospel group noted for its “fabulous ’50s gospel,” which features 12 of The Platters’ songs rewritten in gospel format.
The recording is receiving air time all over the world in cities like Melbourne, Australia, Cornwall, England and Nairobi-Kenya, Africa.
Since the Steel City Quartet had the privilege of sharing the stage with Charlie Thomas and The Drifters, their ministry had since exploded.
Cindy Nace, owner of Nace Entertainment, was in the audience that night and Steel City Quartet immediately captured her attention and interest.
Within hours, the owner of the agency contacted Steel City Quartet and has represented the group since January 2004. Nace Entertainment has grown rapidly and in its four and a half years of existence now represents nearly 1,000 individual entertainers and groups.
