local Actors and Artists of Fayette County will present “Father of the Bride” today through Sunday at Scottdale Showtime Theatre, 111 Pittsburgh St., Scottdale. The production is under the direction of Martha Oliver and Richard Means, both long-time members of AAFC.

Flatwoods Productions has announced auditions for the musical “Annie.” Auditions will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Curfew Grange, located at the corner of Buena Vista Road and Route 201 South. Needed are little girls ages 8 to 12 for the roles of Annie and the six orphans.

The theater will also cast a chorus of additional orphans for both musical numbers “Hard Knock Life” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed.” Girls auditioning are asked to bring sheet music for a Broadway or other style song.

A pianist will be provided. Girls are asked not to use any songs from “Annie” as audition pieces.

Also, it is requested there will be no use of pre-recorded tapes or non- accompanied auditions.

A specific song may be requested for callbacks. Also needed are men and women ages 16 and older for the many adult roles in the show.

Those auditioning are asked to bring sheet music and dress comfortably for a short dance audition.

Readings for all characters will be from the script. Also needed are men and women to work backstage with scenery, lighting, props, costumes and crew. Interested people should attend the audition to fill out a contact sheet.

Previous experience is not necessary for being on stage or back stage.

Everyone is welcome to attend. The theater is also seeking musicians for a possible pit orchestra/band. Needed are all instruments, including trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, violin, etc. Interested musicians are asked to call the theater for more information. The show will perform the beginning of April. For more information, call Flatwoods at 724-785-6896.California University of Pennsylvania will host a performance by The Renaissance City Women’s Choir at 9 p.m. Saturday in the Natali Student Center’s Performance Center. The choir is Pittsburgh’s only choir comprised of lesbians, bisexuals, transgender and supportive individuals whose membership includes women from many professions, avocations and musical backgrounds to ever perform at Cal U. Bluegrass music will be presented at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Indian Creek Valley Community Center.

Free admission and seating will be provided. The event will feature food, coffee for sale and 50/50 tickets.

Donations will be appreciated. The bands will play for 10 minutes each. Some of the bands include Springtime Bluegrass, Mainline, Norm Zack and others.

Buck Naked Band will perform tonight at Falling Rocks, formerly Sundance Saloon, on Route 19 North in Hepzibah near Clarksburg, W.Va., and on Saturday at Country Hideway on Kanetown Road off Route 50 in Fellowsville, W.Va. There is a cover charge.Shakespeare returns to center stage at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus through today in the Maggie Hardy Magerko Auditorium Community Center.

Country music will be presented Saturday at the Sagebrush Round-Up on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va. Featured acts include Burl Smith, Ray Hileman & The Wheels of Country and BLS (Bill, Lisa & Steve.) Country music starts at 6 p.m. with the open stage. The house band Stagecoach will back single acts and new talent. The scheduled portion of the show starts at 7 p.m. and continues until 11 p.m.

There is a small cost for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free. The Sagebrush Round-Up is located six miles east of Interstate 79 at Exit 139 on Bunner Ridge near Fairmont, W.Va.
