Reminders
– The Frazier Community Library will host an informal scrapbooking event each Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30, now through Aug. 18. Come as you are able and as often as you like. Children aged 10 and up are welcome if accompanied by an adult.
– “Learn How to Be Who you Are” is at Little Redstone Presbyterian Church. A six-week spiritual study based on the book “Bringers of the Light” by Neale Donald Walsch, begins Thursday at 7 p.m. Register by calling Susan at 724-326-8291 or Debi at 724-797-0255. Copies of the book will be available for the cost of $8. The church is on Central School Road across from Central School.
– The Perryopolis Moose Lodge 92 will hold a cash bash on Saturday at the Moose Lodge on Route 51. Doors open at 6 p.m. Donation is $20. This fund-raiser benefits the Moose Charities.
– Red Hat Society: “Carousel” at the Benedum on July 28. Cost is $30 per person. Call Queen Connie if you wish to attend. Red Hat Hoot, Aug. 21 in the afternoon at St. Nick’s Pavilion. The cost is $5 (for the rent of the pavilion) plus a covered dish.
– Tai Chi for Arthritis class, using a form that is approved by the National Arthritis Foundation and created by Dr. Paul Lam, is for those with diabetes, arthritis, bad knees, etc., an alternative way to build health and wellness. For more information, call Sue Daniels at 724-736-4076.

New pastors
Beginning today, the new pastor at Fairview United Methodist Church on Laureldale Road, Grindstone, will be the Rev. Jim Myers. The time of the service also changed to 10:30.
Flower club
Attention past and present flower club members – the Perryopolis Flower Club will celebrate its 50th anniversary (1955-2005) on July 20 at noon with a picnic at Sampey Park. Members are reminded to bring a covered dish and something to be auctioned off to benefit the flower club’s ways and means fund. All past and present flower club members are cordially invited to attend. If anyone has any old photos or news articles for the club’s scrapbook, please call. Library news
Due to the Independence Day holiday, the Frazier Community Library will be closed on Monday and will reopen Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Hoagie sale
The members of the Frazier marching band will hold a hoagie sale to benefit the Frazier band in August. Orders are due Aug. 12 and will be delivered on Aug. 20. Band members will take orders. See the latest on Frazier’s band at www.fraziermarchingband.5u.com.
Holiday auction
There will be a special antique auction at the Perry Volunteer Fire Hall on Monday. The kitchen will be open and all proceeds from the food benefit the PTVFD. The auction begins at 10 a.m. so come check out the goods.
Spaghetti dinner
The Perryopolis Sons of Italy Lodge 730 is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner at the Sons of Italy Hall on July 14 from 3 to 6 p.m.
Cost is $6 for adults and $3 for children. Take-outs are available; bring containers.
