Guild to make trip to Quilt Odyssey

Places are still available for the Hearts and Hands Quilt Guild’s day-trip to Quilt Odyssey on July 28. The cost of the trip covers transportation only. The entry fee to Quilt Odyssey will be the responsibility of each individual, as is the cost of meals. Anyone interested in registering for the trip should call Kay Bigley at 724-872-9675 no later than July 15.

This is the second year that the Hearts and Hands Quilt Guild has sponsored a bus trip to this combination quilt show and merchants mall held at the Hershey Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey.

The itinerary for the day includes departure from the Pennsville Baptist Church at 7 a.m.

A second pick-up location has been scheduled for 7:15 a.m. at Leah Personal Care Home in New Stanton. The group expects to stop for lunch at approximately 11:15 a.m. at the Bob Evans in Hershey. Arrival at Quilt Odyssey is expected at 12:15 p.m.

The group will then depart the show at 4 p.m. with a dinner stop scheduled for 6 p.m. at Ed’s Steak House in Bedford. Expected drop-off at Leah Personal Care Home in New Stanton is 8:45 p.m. and at the Pennsville Baptist Church at 9 p.m.

This year, the Hearts and Hands Quilt Guild celebrates the 10th anniversary of its founding in 1995. The group meets the second Thursday of each month at the Woodcrest Senior-Living Center, l Woodcrest Circle, Scottdale. Meetings begin at 7 p.m.

Anyone interested in quilting is welcome to attend two meetings prior to becoming a member.

Members of the group describe their quilting experience as ranging from beginners to professional.
