Uniontown’s second annual Cycles in the City event will be held on Saturday, July 16. Various events will be held throughout the day beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding at 9 p.m. “Last year’s event was a tremendous success for cycle enthusiasts as well as the city of Uniontown,” said Ron Romeo, the event’s committee chairman. “This year’s event will be even better.”

To launch the activities for the day, a Poker Run will begin at Cerini’s National Road Harley Davidson at 9 a.m. There is a fee for participants, with proceeds benefiting the Cycles in the City fund.

Additionally, a swap meet will begin at 9 a.m. in the Pittsburgh Street parking lot next to the CVS Pharmacy. There is a vendor fee for the meet.

Beginning at 10 a.m., Main Street will close, and cycles will begin to line the street. A judged competition for cycles will take place on Main Street beginning on Beeson Avenue and continuing to Morgantown Street. There is a fee to enter the competition, and cash prizes will be awarded to finalists.

There will be music throughout the afternoon, and participants will be encouraged to visit downtown business and event sponsors for food and refreshments. Beginning at 4 pm, the event will move to Romeo Lane off of Route 51/ Pittsburgh Street.

That location will feature stunt drivers, burnout and T-shirt competitions as well as games for children. There will also be food and beverage vendors on-site.

The band NOMaD is slated to perform from 5 to 9 p.m. at Romeo Lane.

For more information, call Ron Romeo at 724-438-5561. Food and accessory vendors are needed for the event.
