Class of 1965

The deadline to reply to the invitation to the Frazier High School Class of 1965 has been extended from Nov. 1 to Nov. 16. Any classmate wishing to attend may still send checks until that date, when the Holiday Inn will have to have their final count for the buffet.

As an added attraction, one of the former Frazier English teachers and the director of the senior class play has accepted an invitation to attend. From the response so far, it seems that the classmates would rather visit with Mr. Skomra than with their fellow classmates.

The reunion will be held on Nov. 25 at the Holiday Inn at Belle Vernon (Route 51 and Interstate 70). Any classmate who has not received an invitation, is asked to call Pam Komacko Anderson at 724-736-0453 or Ruthie at 724-736-2578 and leave your name and address, or e-mail Ruthie Hawker Shields at cinder@dp.net.

Cactus Golf

The season is officially over. Linden Hall golf course is empty of the crowds of hopefuls, the crying is now silent, the boasting is put on hold until next year and it is time to hone in the sand bagging ability. There is a feeling of sadness to go there and not see the familiar faces, the hope in the eyes and the bravado in their voices. It will be a long winter but the thought of spring bringing a new opportunity to once again strive for the elusive title of Club Champion will soften the wait somewhat.

The good news is that our beloved sponsor, Gene Cable, did not indicate that he no longer would sponsor the club and that the rumor being circulated by some of the malcontents is not true. The conversation with one of the members was regarding the patronage of the members and was not meant to be construed as a severance of sponsorship. Thanks Gene. It is hard to fathom what Linden Hall would be like without you. Next week will be the last posting of the news.

Spaghetti dinner

The Perryopolis Sons of Italy Lodge 730 is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner at the hall on Thursday, from 3 to 6 p.m. Costs are, adults $6, children $3. Take-outs will be available. Bring your own containers.
