PERRYOPOLIS – The Frazier Drama Club will present “The Haunting of Will Shakespeare” by Claudia Haas at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the Frazier High School Auditorium. All proceeds from these productions will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.

As the holidays draw closer, the Frazier Drama students are aware of the difficult situations people suffering from the recent hurricanes still find themselves in.

Their efforts to help are seen in their production of “The Haunting of Will Shakespeare.”

In the production, the witches and spirits force Will to leave behind his desire to become an actor and instead create them as characters in his plays.

Will (Cody Inman) finds himself pursued by Helena (Stephanie Smith) as they leave Stratford. The three witches, Hecate (Chelsea Gallo), Paddock (Sara Toth) and Graymalkin (Jenna Boyles) of MacBeth draw spirits to convince Will that he must write them into plays in order to free them from the woods in which they exit.

Hamlet (Mike Kriss) demands to exit or not to exit and leaves with Ophelia (Roberta Emery), while Rosalind (Rebecca Harmon) and Celia (Mary Hilty) tell him of the perils of acting.

The troupe of players, Phebe (Erin Sizemore), Silviuis (Ricky Emery) explain that they will make no money as players.

Spirits adopting roles to help make Will write include Olivia (Alayna Lincoln), Petruchio (Brandon Diederich), Kate (Shannon Mattox), Juliet (Heather Priester), silent Romeo (Matt Deabner) and Nurse (Sarah Adams).

The trio of actors in the woods include Bottom (Kamryn Schwab), Flute (Kim Deabner) And Staveling (David Orr). Viola (Cayla Ross) wanders through the woods trying to connect all the characters.

Supporting spirits, many of whom understudy main parts, include Lauren Kriss, Eric Deabner, Alyssa Lincoln, Nikke Partain, Lindsay Cable, Renee Martin, Jenna Gardner, Emily Stark, Giovanna Bitonti, Amanda Pato, Francesca Uhor, Samantha Chuboy, Elizabeth Layhew, Gabby Muzina, Samantha Deffer, Samantha Orr and Megan Murdock.

Stage crew, sound and scenery and props are handled by Justin Ritter, Matt Adams, Annie King, Nicole Sigwalt, Jeremy Green, Frank Lovasz and Jenna Boyles.

Director Joanne Cushman said this will be a great play, with all the hard work of the drama club members.

Tickets are available at the door.
