AG students to present hillbilly farce
The Albert Gallatin High School Drama Department opens the 2005-2006 season with a presentation of “A-Feudin’ Over Yonder” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, Nov. 21-22. The hillbilly farce focuses on a feud between the Popoff family and the Fry family. The feud began when a Popoff boy killed Paw Fry.
The deaths and wounding of various family members have kept the old healer, Mountain Maggie, busy ever since. To add insult to injury, Rosie Belle Fry, talented with a gun, has stolen her sister’s beau right out from under her nose.
The travelin’ preacher is due any day now, so sister Emmy is determined to get “hitched,” even if it means ending the feud to make the Popoff boys eligible to a Fry daughter.
A love potion, an axe, a bath – all these complications and more are needed to untangle a mess before a happy ending can be worked out.
Tickets are available from cast members or at the door, which opens at 6:30 p.m.
Students appearing in the performance are Sarah Cromwell, Tiffany Smodic, Kimberly Koast, Jan Koposko, Lauren Smochinsky, C.J. Durso, Justin Butcho, Justin Butcho, Justin Rhodes, Donald Taylor, Carl Opel, Breanna Otto, Brean King, Rebecca Hoone, Jessica Lipniskas, Kayla Walker, Heather Hudak, Kaitlin Shore, Sarah Honsaker, Katie Smaniotto, Nathan Gruden, Dennis Gallagher, Marc Straight and Nicole Guappone.
