1 min read

LIGONIER – Come to Ligonier and enjoy the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce’s 14th annual scarecrow contest titled “Something to Crow About.” It begins with the placing of unique creatures around the town’s lampposts.

The official opening of the event was Wednesday, Oct. 19.

The beautiful Ligonier Diamond provides a splendid array of magnificent fall colors as a backdrop for this special event.

Three judges will determine the first-, second- and third-place winners of the scarecrow contest.

Cash prizes will be provided to the winners. Loyalhanna Realty will donate the prizes.

In addition to the cash prize winners, an honorable mention “community favorite” will be named.

Selection will be made by popular vote.

Residents and visitors may cast ballots for their favorite scarecrow at participating shops.

The contest, which is sponsored by the merchant’s committee of the Ligonier Valley Chamber of Commerce, ends Nov. 1.
